Blackbody & Firewall NewsWednesday 13 January, 2010 Dear audiophile friends,
Since the release of the Blackbody, many have pre-ordered the device at considerable rebate. I am happy to say that almost all clients who have pre-ordered have now been served. It is heart-warming to hear your positive feedback and support. Thank you all for that! I am also thankful for your uploaded comments on the forums or on our website. (I don't know why Audiogon deletes some of these... there must be more about it than we know, or something...) A special thanks to those of you who are already placing repeat orders. Your support is highly appreciated and your systems' sound is going to really shine! It seems that some people have accepted the Blackbody's ideas of operation as mysticism, when in fact it is not mysticism at all, but the fruit of some very consequent thought on electrodynamic interaction. It seems my initial explanations were not clear enough for the general public, and so it is up to us to do better. We have now uploaded a new web page of technical information which explains the operating principle of the Blackbody. LessLoss Blackbody on Engadget and GizmodoTuesday 01 December, 2009 Dear friends,
Let me tell you a little bit about my thinking (other than what is already published on LessLoss.com). Audiophile culture is interesting because of its initiatory aspect. Most of what I believe is learned through audiophile culture is a step-by-step exclusion of presumptions; a school of becoming humble in this screaming-for-attention world of ours. The opposite of audiophile culture would be the mass-production culture of big business. This is not to say that there can't be mass-produced audiophile products. But it is the small guy who works his head off for that last little tiny bit of quality who really drives audiophile culture forward. A couple of days ago we've been featured on Gizmodo.com and Engadget.com. This is interesting because normally those huge industry funnels do not even portray an interest in true audiophile culture by small companies. Yes, the bold design caught their attention, but also our, what seemed to them, bold wording. However, audiophiles who are initiated do not consider anything bold wording because they desire to experience for themselves. It seems to me today that audiophile culture is more about the joy of direct experience than anything else. Reviews are great to get to know things in a roundabout way, but that's about it. The main thing we as audiophiles are interested in is not looking like the next guy who also has such and such piece of cool new gear. And for this reason, it is a highly personal matter, an intimate discourse within and with ourselves about our own feelings about our goals and progress. Are we going forward? What am I hearing? What is the reason? Is it me? Emotion is part of me, but I am not a slave of it. I don't deny it, yet I partake in it in my evaluation. These constant questions we audiophiles have in our heads are the driving force of this interest in good sound, and it does lead to places. LessLoss BlackbodyMonday 23 November, 2009 Dear friends,
It is my great pleasure to present to you the all-new Blackbody! The Blackbody is our new accessory for the high end audio world, helping us achieve a new, broader horizon of achievable quality. Its functionality is highly effective regardless of whether you use digital or analogue. On speakers or on electronics. Regardless even of the power filtering method or cabling. It works in a unique way, opening the door to an entirely new way of looking at electromagnetic interaction, a way which is not covered or addressed by even the wildest audiophile feet, equipment stands, or power filters. LessLoss accepts credit cards / Blackbody progressFriday 18 September, 2009 Dear audiophile fans,
I am happy to announce that credit card payment functionality on LessLoss.com is now up and running! You are now welcome to initiate orders and place payment by credit card. Regarding the Blackbody: we are currently running a couple of first prototypes of production units. There are plenty of meticulous design elements to take care of, so teaching our production partners about them requires their learning new concepts. Stay tuned for more news as we continue to progress with this fascinating project. We will try to provide pictures as soon as possible. New product release -- DFPC SignatureTuesday 16 June, 2009 Dear friends of good sound,
On behalf of LessLoss, I am very pleased to announce the release of our flagship power cable, named the DFPC Signature. In it, we have been able to make considerable advances in sound quality based on new methods of design learned from the development of the Firewall and Blackbody. I will be glad to offer our valued clients special pricing when upgrading from the DFPC Original. See it here: http://www.lessloss.com/dfpc-signature-p-199.html Two new things are up on the LessLoss websiteWednesday 10 June, 2009 Dear friends of quality sound,
Two new things are up on the LessLoss website: First, a FREE high quality LessLoss recording of a grand piano being played by a child prodigy in what I would call "A Fresh Look at Bach". I even recorded segments of the tuning process. Have you heard a Steinway being tuned on your stereo? http://www.lessloss.com/a-fresh-look-at-bach-p-198.html Next, after much deliberation about the best way to introduce this unique and highly promising new product here at LessLoss, I now present to you the web-ready presentation of our pending Blackbody. http://www.lessloss.com/page.html?id=60 LessLoss: Ultra High Resolution Recording in Basel, SwitzerlandMonday 30 March, 2009 Dear fans of great music, and great recordings,
I am happy to announce the completion of two LessLoss Bach Sonata recordings for flute and basso continuo. Flute and harpsichord as well as bassoon playing the basso continuo line were recorded using the best hand made recording gear LessLoss has achieved to date. It's a great musical collaboration of three energetic young musicians, recorded in Basel's wonderful acoustics of St. Martin's Church in the Old Town. The best, most detailed and least distorted sound is made available on the 24 bit / 96 kHz version, now available for download. Demo sections are available in MP3 format. CD versions are also available if you don't want to bother converting the 24/96 versions yourself. Believe me, even this seemingly simple mathematical task is a musical art in and of itself. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to record harpsichord. Due to its somewhat "obnoxious" harmonic content, this instrument really reveals any and all high frequency distortion, and I'm certain that this recording represents some of the cleanest high frequency source material you will have ever heard, whether you are an enthusiast audiophile or professional working in the field of recording. LessLoss: DFPC Mini in Schuko / LessLoss RecordingFriday 20 February, 2009 Dear audiophile friends,
LessLoss now offers the DFPC Mini in the European Schuko version. The price is the same as that of the USA/Japan version. Other than the Schuko connector, which is the Oyaide 029, the USA and Schuko versions of the DFPC Mini are identical in design. Also, LessLoss is scheduled to record an ensemble of Flute, Bassoon and Harpsichord in Basel, Switzerland at the end of February, 2009. This recording shall be made public online on the LessLoss web shop. We are happy to announce that the audio quality shall be even better than the current recording online of solo Flute, using the very latest technologies that LessLoss is further perfecting. Among these is implementation of the Firewall, Blackbody prototypes, as well as future ionic stabilization technologies. LessLoss Firewall in the PressMonday 15 December, 2008 I am pleased to announce that the first press review of the LessLoss Firewall is due to appear in the upcoming issue of the print-only audiophile journal "Bound for Sound" next week.
Publisher: Marty DeWulf. Web: www.BoundForSound.com LessLoss: Introducing the FirewallFriday 05 December, 2008 Dear friends of high quality sound,
It is a pleasure to announce our present lowered prices for both the DFPC and the DFPC (mini).
