BackgroundLessLoss Blackbody -- an invention by Louis Motek
We at LessLoss have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on our newest product, the revolutionary LessLoss Blackbody. The LessLoss system has been incomparably effective up into the multigigahertz range by filtering the power supply via the Dynamic Filtering Power Cables and Firewall power foundation device; and now, by engaging the new LessLoss Blackbody, the true audiophile can filter even higher frequency ranges: microwaves, T-rays, infrared, the rainbow spectrum, and on through the ultraviolet bandwidths. Successful full-bandwidth coverage is a crucial step in completing the LessLoss filtering system, and it stands up to the LessLoss challenge: even on a noisy home PC playing through your average Soundblaster, when the Blackbody is employed, everyone -- even non-audiophiles -- can hear obvious improvements in the sound. In earlier posts, I described the development process of the LessLoss Firewall. I mentioned that noise encompasses a gray area where one can no longer speak of inductance and radiation as separate phenomena. Instead of tucking this dual nature of noise into the corner of our minds as an odd piece of physics trivia, we now ceremoniously bring it to center stage, point our spotlight on it, and use it as the very basis of our design foundation for the Blackbody. To defend against highest frequency noise, it is important to first grasp the distinctive dual nature of this interdependent behavior and then make use of it.
We overlook many amazing things because our limited human senses are not capable of easily perceiving them. The limited bandwidth available to our senses is but a very inadequate peep-hole into the vast array of invisible electromagnetic phenomena which constantly engulfs us. How we love to oversimplify reality: it's so convenient and cozy. Sometimes we are presented with information we'd rather not even know about. Like the 416 photons per cubic centimeter which are presently touching the tip of your nose in the form of 13 billion-year old cosmic microwave background radiation. It is hard enough to conceive of thousands of ancient photons on the tip of your nose; yet, in fact, these same photons permeate your entire body. This is where New Age Nonsense jumps in and screams: “We are one with the stars!” I won't go that far. There is, however, actual, scientific truth in the statement that 13 billion-year old cosmic background radiation permeates the air around you, and yes, even inside you. There is more space in even the most dense atom than you can even imagine. The tiny particles constituting magnetic fields are so small that they easily go right through paper, wood, plastic, even a hard rock or your functioning brain. Magnetic fields are real, they exist everywhere, and they affect the sound of your hi-fi system. Solid fact. Let's go deeper.
The word Quantum has been much abused of late. Quantum this, quantum that. Fishing reels. Food. James Bond anyone? Quantum is the new catch-word for marketers. Once that word was crystal, then plasma. Ambi-light, ambi-pure, etc. But I’m not using the word as a marketing tool. I’m really talking about quantum physics. Ready? As an introduction to how the LessLoss Blackbody works, I ask at this point that you watch this compelling short video [5 min 44 sec] in which Richard Feynman (recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics, 1965) animatedly describes what is constantly going on around us -- and our sound systems -- which we hardly pause to think about.
