Louis Motek managing director LessLoss Audio Devices |
I am selling this 3 am sound for your enjoyment all day long, every day.”
Media has called him “very much a hands-on, affable and most courteous individual who is the quintessential small business owner.”
He likes to waste time considering whether or not there might be a different, as yet overlooked method of wasting time. He admits that 90% of the time thus spent is indeed wasted. He has traits which some very misinformed onlookers claim border on Freddie Mercury and Salvador Dali.
The consciously insane Louis Motek is a Texan tornado in the disguise of a Baltic pagan from the deep amber woods of Lithuania. When he's alone his private consultants are the elves he attempts in vain to brush off as mere Kinderspiel.
Louis Motek has vast musical experience. The son of an organist and choir singer, his two brothers played violin, his sister classical guitar, his uncle a professional pianist/organist, and his grandmother was an opera soloist. His first piano recital was given at age six. At this early age he was already successfully advancing through the books of the Suzuki cello school. At the age of twelve he took up the saxophone as well. He has played in big-bands, symphony orchestras, ethnic music ensembles, has sung in mixed choirs, has composed his own popular and academic music, and was a student of musicology. At one point he had mastered at least a C major scale on all of the instruments you would encounter in any of the above mentioned ensembles.
He has worked as a jeweler in New York City and has 10 years of experience in a private Pro-Tools based recording studio. It is in the recording studio where his interest in high end audio was born and where, eventually, with LessLoss, he found all of his musical talents bear fruit with his developing top quality components he now offers for sale. Some of these are fifteen years in the making, and anyone who knows Louis will attest to their being mature solutions for the discerning audiophile, far outperfroming your usual "audiophile" equipment.
Louis Motek is trilingual. He speaks and writes fluently in English, German, and Lithuanian. His favorite things are those which are evident, but are yet unexplainable by mainstream science.

Vilmantas “Vil” Duda LessLoss Audio Devices |
I hold a degree in electrical engineering and have been active in the field of audio electronics for my entire conscious life. I followed all of the audio related computer developments from the very beginning and have always been upgrading the latest cheap technology to outdo even the more expensive offerings. I enjoy creating more than I enjoy prolonged listening to my creations, and am currently working on a dream system for private use. I continue to study the newest technologies, such as phase-perfect digital filtering algorithms and their potential in an ideal crossover system.
I worked as a sound technician in several recording studios here in Lithuania before moving to California for a year. In California, I was active as a studio computer specialist and configured several of the computers which are used in much popular production, including one for the keyboardist who co-wrote Michael Jackson's “Thriller.” There was much to learn and see in L.A., however I felt my electrotechnical expertise was not fully exploited there. Although my talents were fully appreciated there, I still felt that my true passion was to create, not merely to configure robust systems so that others could use them to create.
I have been making custom DAC's for over 10 years, following the latest developments. Building custom equipment for sound recording studios and audiophiles was interesting, but it was always on a budget. Now, as master engineer of LessLoss, I have the chance in my DAC 2004 to completely utilize all of the knowlege that is known to me. Through extensive research and, together with Liudas, we have made LessLoss happen.
I am happily married and have a daughter. Sorry about not shaving for the photo.
