Proposal: New C-MARC™ Headphone / Car Audio Stereo Interconnect Cable

Dear esteemed Customers,

This subject has come up several times here at LessLoss, so I thought I'd present it to you and see what you think.

The Problem

I'll keep it simple. These typically cheap run-of-the-mill headphone cables are crappy:

LessLoss C-MARC

The sound they provide tires the ear, offers a horrible stereo image, smears the sound, and makes life more miserable than it should be. And they always wind up breaking.

They are often used in mobile applications, for desktop computer speakers, car stereos, portable DACs, etc.

Many after-market solutions exist, though none reach the excellence in tonal quality, sublime musicality, stereo imaging, and background silence, as does C-MARC™ wire and cable technology.

Two basic sizes exist. The larger 1/4" stereo jack and the smaller 1/8th (3.5mm) version.

The ultimate solution by LessLoss

We could hand make a very potent C-MARC™ version of such a cable and all its variations. These could be:

(Variation #1): 1/4 inch to 1/4 inch (6.35mm to 6.35mm)
(Variation #2): 1/8th inch to 1/8th inch (3.5mm to 3.5mm)
(Variation #3): 1/4 inch to 1/8th inch (6.35mm to 3.5mm)
(Variation #4): 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch (3.5mm to 6.35mm)

Such a cable could be made to be waterproof, protecting the all-cotton dielectric from moisture.

We searched the world for a good quality, great sounding plug and believe we have found one in Viablue. The prerequisite size demands for building the cable are met, but we are not entirely happy with the outer barrel housing. It proves so large that it sometimes does not fit into all available faceplates of some gear.

We have great ideas as to how to perfect this design to a universal fit and to provide even better sonics, to achieve years of reliable use in a great product that would never disappoint, regardless of the weather and beating it might take, even if left in a car all the time.

It would be refined, and therefore per force somewhat less flexible than those flimsy run-of-the-mill ones you always see eventually breaking contact and tearing open at the ends. But it would therefore be a life-long performer and one that will revolutionize the sound of any headphones-based or car stereo integrated system (for instance with an outboard high quality DAC playing into the AUX input of the car stereo system).

Please let me know if you are interested in such a product via return email. Pricing would be on par with that of our C-MARC™ digital cables. Thank you!
