Wolk Recording Studios is located in Riga, Latvia. After demonstrating the DFPC Signatures to Igor Volk, owner, we secured the order to replace all of the power cables in the entire studio with LessLoss DFPC Signatures.

Little did we then know that, over the course of several decades, Wolk Recording Studios had been steadily amassing an impressive collection of some of the world's most famous vintage and new professional recording gear. When we arrived, we were very pleased with the serious attitude we encountered there regarding the striving in every detail of installation to ensure high sound quality. This is not often the passionate case in all professional recording environments, where quick and easy returns of investment are often sought.

The total number of power cables in this project was 70. Louis Motek travelled personally to Riga to oversee operations on the day of installation. Installation was completed in a single day.

The studio boasts a very impressive equipment list of some of the highest quality recording gear in the world...

Igor Volk, owner, and Aleksandr Volk (his son) are a fantastic duo operating a very efficient, highly professional studio in a very clean and "energetically friendly" environment. They showed us around the studio and presented some great stories about the gear they are so knowledgeable of and proud to have.

Igor even showed me (Louis Motek) a self-designed and manufactured gigantic diaphragm microphone for use with kick drums in live concert applications -- made from a dynamic loudspeaker running backwards! Highly impressive engineering.

The system consists of a large LessLoss Firewall with special industrial connectors. We specially polished all of these connections before installing them. For the distributors for the many power cables themselves we used Furutech sockets.

Part of the joy of working in a good recording studio is not seeing any cables. There is precious peace of mind to be gained from this, both for the engineers and for the musicians and producers. People are working with gear on sound, not on gear with sound. This is important in a studio setting where it is all about the art of sound, while at the same time the clock ticks its costly ticks in the background. It is so much more energetically peaceful to enjoy a cable-free environment when there are already enough buttons which can distract from the creation of the soundscape.

Among some of the great things they have here are excellent microphones for every occasion. We were appreciating their different self-resonances and talking about the unique shades of sound difference captured by each different microphone. (By the way, some of these world famous models are manufactured in Latvia.)

It is a great pleasure serving both pro-audio and audiophile users seeking the best possible sound from their equipment. We look forward to implementing more large projects such as this and welcome your inquiries. Thank you for your interest in our high performance solutions!
