USB Firewall Key ships now! Pre-order deadline tomorrow!

Dear esteemed customers,

Just yesterday we received the first production batch of raw bog wood enclosures for the USB Firewall Key. As planned and promised, we are wasting no time with final impregnation, polishing and assembly. We will start shipping according to our roster today or tomorrow, with another batch coming in for final assembly this evening. Those who have been waiting longest are the very first people on the list.

How many should I get?

If you use USB for audio and if its 5V line and ground connection connect in any way to your DAC (even if your DAC later discards them and reproduces its own power for conversion), you need the USB Firewall Key. Otherwise you may as well consider your outboard DAC a mere extension of your noisy computer. You will have nice office type sound.

For audiophile type sound quality, you should use up to three USB Firewall Keys in series. At a later date, we will announce a new supplemental USB product which will bring about an even better level of performance using four USB Firewall Keys connected in a special way. This 'special way' will require an additional plug device in order to make the connection. More on this later. Right now, suffice it to say that anywhere from one to three USB Firewall Keys will bring your USB connection much closer to the ideal, where the DAC receives only information, but no noise, from your computer.

This is how the raw bog wood looks. Note that we were in a rush and had no time to play around with any lighting, so at certain angles the logos seem to disappear. This has only to do with the angle of reflection of light and the wood grain's natural irregularity. In person you can easily read the logo.



This is how the bog wood looks when impregnation wax is applied. We apply a generous amount to make sure it fills every pore in the dense bog wood.



We are using 100% natural beeswax oil and the aroma is very nice. The darker the bog wood, the more resistant it is to soak in the oil.



Next we dab off the excess oil and let it further settle.



Afterwards we buff the surface and true beauty emerges.

(2) You can (and should) use up to three USB Firewall Keys connected in series (one right into the other) for best results. Using four can get even better results, but in that case look out for a new dedicated connector device from LessLoss to make the best use of all four.
