Just yesterday we received the first production batch of raw bog wood enclosures for the USB Firewall Key. As planned and promised, we are wasting no time with final impregnation, polishing and assembly. We will start shipping according to our roster today or tomorrow, with another batch coming in for final assembly this evening. Those who have been waiting longest are the very first people on the list.

Today was BIG DEVELOPMENT DAY for us at LessLoss. That's right. We learned a lot about bog wood and how it behaves on the mechanical mill. During the course of a few days we made many trials in order to get to know this novel material's technical behavior.

The long wait for the bog wood has finally ended. There was such an ordeal getting the maple version that we decided on oak. After the special patented treatment of the wood, both appear somewhat similar in texture, and both are about 20% denser and therefore heavier, but with the difference that the visible pores on the bog oak are just a little bigger.

This weekend we provide you with new pictures of the Echo's End DAC. As can be seen, the surface appearance changes according to angle of light and viewing. The flares in the wood are brought out by our lacquering process.

Here are some updated snapshots of how the finished Echo's End DAC looks. We have now taken the "raw wood" option off of the ordering page. This is much better.
