Second of two new BlackGround based products from LessLoss!

Here we'll present to you the new BlackGround 8x Speaker Base - Dual Channel product.

Earlier we presented the pending BlackGround 10x Speaker Base - Single Channel version. You can check that out here.

So now let's take a look at the 8x Dual Channel version for speaker signals in detail. On the top we see the laser engraved insignia:

This means that this unit has 8 BlackGround modules onboard, and has provision to condition two audio channels of speaker level signal.

Just like the 10x Single Channel version, the form factor is the same as our 10x Power Base. So it looks like this:

And it also features the hand made brass placard on the front:

Now let's turn it around and take a look at the connections:

From left to right, we see the IEC C14 inlet for any standard power cord, two ground terminals for banana connections, and then four speaker signal input terminals labeled +, -, + and -.

Now I'll explain how simple it is to connect. We'll divide the explanation in two parts.

Part 1: The Grounding Connection. (It is circled below.)

You've got two choices. You can either use a standard grounded power cord, or you can use any of the two grounding terminals which have the ground symbol on them.

So for instance, if you already have the 10x Power Base, you don't need a power cord for this one. You can simply run one of our C-MARC™ Grounding cables from a 10x Power Base ground terminal to any of the two grounding terminals on this one. The Grounding cable needs to have bananas on both ends.

But if you don't already have the 10x Power Base, you can also simply use any power cord which features a grounding connection and plug it in to your grounded wall outlet.

That's it for Part 1 (grounding).

Now we move on to... 

Part 2: the speaker signal connections. (Circled below).

You see above four terminals reading from left to right: +, -, + and -.

The first two on the left are for one channel and the last two on the right are for the other channel.

You can tap your speaker signal from your amp outputs or from your speaker inputs.

So, in detail, let's quickly go through them, starting from the rightmost connection and working our way towards the left.

This one is negative, so we drew a black circle around it. This goes to the black output of your amp on one channel.

This one is positive, so we drew a red circle around it. This goes to the red output of your amp on the same channel as the black (negative) one you just connected.

We're done with one channel.

Now we connect the other channel. Negative (black) goes to amp's black output terminal:

And finally, positive (red) goes to amp's red output terminal for that same channel:

So that's all the connections you need to make. All of the wires going towards the BlackGround 8x Speaker Base - dual channel version are always banana terminated wires.

These are very nice terminals polished to perfection. The way they are intimately mated to solid wood, there's no ringing whatsoever and you can really appreciate this when you make the silky smooth connection:
