Firewall Module

[LessLoss power distributor with onboard Firewall technology and C-MARC Entropic Process Hookup wire throughout]

I got the new conditioner/distributor today, 6 outlets.
Replaced my conditioner, one that took a long time to find which was in my
opinion the best.

I took a risk, but a calculated one, first, every product from LessLoss that
I tried was WOOW, second, a friend of mine has a LessLoss conditioner.

This conditioner is outstanding, a dream of every audiophile, clean power
with a passive conditioner, without all the disadvantages of an active conditioner.

Well done, again!

C-MARC Classic Power Cable

Date Added: 02/24/2021 by Philippe Plumecocq, France
The Entropic Process is quite something, as there has been no drop whatsoever in quality whereas my power and speaker cables (Heimdall 2) had been in the system for well over 18 months, possibly two years... And the sound is getting lusher by the day! Quite an achievement from you and your team, please share my congratulations to all.

C-MARC RCA unbalanced signal cable, stereo pair

Date Added: 02/22/2021 by Tobias, Germany
After some extensive listening time with the C-MARC RCA cable, I thought I‘d give you some feedback on what I’m hearing.

I’m using the cable to connect a Chord electronics DAC (Hugo TT2/M-Scaler) to the (extremely resolving) RAAL Sr1a headphones driven by the matching amplifier from RAAL (HSA-1b), listening mostly to acoustic music, particularly opera, Lied, piano and strings, Jazz and singer-songwriters of all kinds. I own a number of pricey high-end cables, which I use for comparisons.

After a week or so, the sound with the C-MARC cable started opening up quite spectacularly. First off, it appeared somewhat muddled to my ears, darker than I‘m used to, and I assumed that what I was hearing must be a tonal change to the unnatural. I heard „more bass“, but also „less highs“. However, after another week of extensive listening, and after comparisons with other cables (some considerably more expensive), I came to the opposite conclusion: I have never heard such natural sound through my personal audio. Rather than making the sound „darker“, the cable seems to take away artificial sounds that other cables sometimes add, leaving more of the actual music. Instead, there’s slightly more space around the instruments and voices. In my ears, this leads to clarity and precision without any hint of sharpness, while also sounding „fuller“ compared to some of the other cables (e.g. a silver cable of mine that is also very clear but seems to slightly diminish the natural reverberation of acoustic instruments).

This effect became particularly evident to me with solo strings instruments, which to me have been borderline unlistenable on highly resolving equipment. Now I can actually enjoy solo cello or violin recordings without any fatiguing effects; sometimes, with good recordings, it even feels like actually being at the recording or concert venue. Looking back at my first impressions, it seems that I used to mistake sharpness for precision or clarity, effectively expecting a different sound from my Hifi than from live concerts (burn-in might have played a role, too; and perhaps the fit with my rig is particularly great, I haven‘t tried it in other combinations). In any case, it feels good to go back to natural :-;

In short, the cable delivered on my expectations and more. Based on this experience, I‘m now thinking about experimenting with your other products, too.

Bindbreaker Vibration Control Equipment Foot

Date Added: 02/19/2021 by René Copenhagen, Denmark
SETUPS WITHOUT BINDBREAKERS ARE MINDBREAKERS.

I am totally in awe!

A week and a half ago two sets of three Bindbreakers arrived by express UPS Service. My High-end buddy and I had long enjoyed the astonishing benefits of LessLoss products, C-MARC Firewalls, Entropic Power Cords and digital interconnects were in both our setups, supplemented in mine, by a specially build 10 outlet Entropic distributor/conditioner, Entropic loudspeaker Firewalls and Entropic Loudspeaker cables for my satellites and subwoofers. We had frequently discussed what might the Bindbreakers be able to bring to our already very well seasoned setups being able to play any kind of musical style with delicacy and heft.

We both agreed LessLoss has never oversold ANY product to our knowledge, then again, we both had experience with feet under equipment, Black Diamond Racing Cones and others, and yes, they make a difference but ....

We decided to buy two sets together, with the possibility of trying both but in the end saving some money by settling for one set each, were the end effect there, but miniscule.

Well, both sets arrived at my place and I decided to begin with one set of three under my newly aquired dCS Network Bridge, an astonishing streamer, best I have ever heard. After an hour of burn in - yes, to my surprise BBs need burn in time - I thought it should be illegal to sell the dCS without Bindbreakers, such was the improvement on all parameters.

BBs have puzzled me. They are not the kind of "in your face" enhancements, yet, I dare to say an enhancement I can no longer absolutely not live without. So what do they do?

Above all else they make your setup ridiculously fast in a splendid way. Reaction - acceleration and braking time is shortened in a way that opens up the sensation of space, scale, depth, micro- and macro dynamics, slam and tip-toe expressions by musicians plus tone color to die for, I mean the setup literally sings it's heart out as the best singers magically can.

That is what I cannot live without anymore. A week and a half ago I hadn't the slightest notion of that, only an undefined longing for.... Know that feeling?

Let me fill you in, if you are still with me.

At the end of the day I placed the second set under my LessLoss passive conditioner/distributor. Sho' 'nuff, more of the same and I stayed in sonic Heaven not being able to leave Radio Paradise as the next song kept opening up so intriguing that I just had to hear that one too. Mind you, Paradise casts compressed AAC, good quality, but compressed. I just couldn't care, just had to listen.

After three wonderful days of almost 24/7 Radio Paradise my buddy wanted to try out the feet in his setup. I removed them, took them to his home, and, listening to his heavily improved setup I had not yet heard after the change, without installing them, was able to precisely predict to him what nasties they would remove. I was right and he was stunned. Placing just one set under his heavily modified Oppo streamer/DAC repeated what had happened with my sound. A few hours later I left him with a smile that almost ran twice around his face only to return to my own setup that had now turned completely dull. For the next week I could hardly bother to listen to music, not even the very best recordings and certainly not Radio Paradise which I started a couple of times a day but left after one or two songs.

My high-end companion of course bought the second set from me after four days not wanting to go back to HIS now dull sound and I could finally order not two, but four sets for myself. I simply could not help it though my poor purse screamed in agony.

Yesterday my new friend, the UPS truck driver, arrived with two bags containing the twelve BBs and it felt as the morning sun came in after a long winter storm. Burn in time repeated itself, but after an hour I had most of my wonderful sound back by placing three BBs under my streamer again, and, as in a fairy tale, Radio Paradise seemed to broadcast the same specially enhanced quality as a week before. Half a day later I lowered my all digital Steinway&Sons A2 four channel power amp/DAC/room control unit on the second set of BBs and I was equally stunned!

Almost all the deep lows disappeared, sound got two dimensional and irritating and dynamics were gone. I was honestly chocked. I had purposely let the music play during the placement of the unit on the feet, not cutting signal at all to omit the power on/off sound change always there. I'm so glad I had experienced the burn in time already, so I stayed (almost) calm and kept listening. Lesson for y'all, don't judge BBs too early!!!

50 minutes later the tone color was nice again, scale and space had improved, and I could hear what the bass player did to his instrument, not only bass notes. After two hours the sound was better than it has ever been proving that enhancing signal sources with BBs take priority over conditioner/distributor - just like Louis had already stated.

I am so lucky to still have two sets waiting to be unpacked, but that is for a follow up, folks. All I can say, is, Bindbreakers may not be in your face improvements but once you have learned what they do, you cannot live without them.

To be continued .........

Firewall Module

Date Added: 02/05/2021 by Rosalyn, age 5, Copenhagen
[C-MARC Firewall 64X]

Attached is a picture of my granddaughter, Rosalyn. Felix, my son, sent it to me today with the caption: “I think we have a LessLoss fan!”.

He snapped the picture as she heard her children’s songs for the first time with the C-MARC Firewall 64x replacing the regular plug-and-play Firewall 64x model. Her spontaneous reaction, without having been told anything had changed, was to singlehandedly take the stool to the speaker shouting: “Dad, what am I hearing?” She turned five in December.

My son and her mother sat chatting on the couch and all of a sudden they heard her scrambling the stool in front of the speaker shouting the quoted in excitement. She stayed there for several songs to hear the “new” old songs she’s known for years.

C-MARC Classic Power Cable

Date Added: 01/31/2021
I thought I had a very musical system -whatever this means- with special attention to cabling and power in general. Just two power cables were not highest grade in comparison to the rest. Anyway, I could listen for hours and hours with great emotion, pleasure and without any fatigue.

Then I decided to change the two mentioned power cables by switching for the first time to Lessloss products and chose the C-Mark ones without Entropic Process. The result: After one week of burning-in I HAD to listen for hours and hours.

Then I added the Firewall for Loudspeakers. I have not been able to stop listening yet...

I’m still wondering what the Entropic Process could cause. I’m more than tempted.

Thank you very much, Louis&Team. What a pleasure!

Firewall Module

Date Added: 01/28/2021 by Nicolas Karakatsanis
[LessLoss power distributor with 6 Schuko outlets and latest onboard Firewall technology with internal Entropic Process C-MARC cabling throughout]

He Louis,

A few words about the Firewall Distribution Box.
I've been a big fan of your products (Firewall for Speaker, c-marc cables).
Today I received your distribution box. Out of the box the whole system upgraded to an even more system. Every time I add one of your products the same consistently happens. The noise floor drastically drops. This time even more. The stage widens, this time even more. The details/texture gets richer, this time even more. The synergy of the system aligns to a new level, this time even more. All these improvements while keeping everything natural as to the original recordings mix. Utterly impressive!!
I can only say, keep doing your black arts, it works wonders...
A returning customer.

(I didn't mentioned yet your great customer service, the best in the business in my experience)

Echo's End

Date Added: 01/04/2021 by Joerg Meinhardt, Germany
Review LessLoss Echo’s End Reference and Reference Supreme Edition

2020 was a crazy year with a lot of global uncertainty and confusion. I escaped often into the audiophile world and upgraded almost all devices and cables and tweaks.

This review is focussed on the upgrades onto the Echo’s End Reference (EEREF) and afterwards onto Echo’s End Reference Supreme Edition (EESUP).

For people with no time for the rest, both get highly recommended in their price range … whole heartedly!!

Keep on reading, to hear how and why …

In February my first Echo’s End, the Original (EEORG) found it’s place in my system. Please refer to my review on March 9th. I was totally excited about this device and gave it a “highly recommended”.

I was totally happy with this DAC, because I didn’t know any better in my previous price range. Upcoming special budgets got me into curiosity about maybe spending some on further improvements. So I investigated on the EEREF, although I really thought it is too expensive, almost 4 times the EEORG. How should it ever be worth so much.

The Echo’s End Reference (EEREF) story

But my curiosity, audiophile insanity, and a couple of reviews (check review on LessLoss page 05/14/2018 by Jörg Stanislawski) and some discussion with Louis got me on the track and I told him, I would buy next year after all the other planned system changes.

Surprise, Louis was just building 3 of them and could give me one just in a few days … wow, how to withstand this :)

So it arrived at my place early November. Took me only a few minutes to unpack, replace, and listen, and decide. It’s definitely a keeper. How do I now know, what I was experiencing at that time … I have the bad(?) habit to inform Louis almost daily, how the new whatever from his is doing or rather how I was doing. All these emails keep me knowing :)
First impression was the physical weight. With same dimensions and almost same looks it was very unexpected … almost dropped it … not quite :) The extra sonic weight was even more exciting.

So, here some excerpts from my emails to Louis:

Same day:
Nov 2

“… And it sounds fantastic. Meet on the bones, precise positioning, deep space, best bass ever (deeper, stronger, more details), wonderful voices, some female maybe a little bit harsh, but they were before as well. Palpable, presence etc etc. And it will even get better??? Beats the little one in every aspect already. And yes, it does sound different, then I expected. Especially this power is great!!

Thanks for making this lovely (heavy) beast. Please congratulate your team as well.”

Later same day:

“… I feel so stupid now, that I thought my stereo sounds great just a few days ago (still with the EEORG)… This is a totally different league!!! My second listening round was fantastic!! The projected room/stage is so much more believable. And the timbres, bells, cymbals, voices …”

2 days later:
Nov 4

“Man, this is sooooo good after only 2.5 days continuous running. Remembering some songs in vinyl with my wonderful system from the 90s ….Could not get near with the resolution and natural voices and and and. It’s really that good. And it would show this even without high resolution but rather normal CDs. The theory about CDs was probably right from the beginning, but the playing technology not.

Chapeau my friend … This is by far my most expensive device and upgrade, but worth every penny. And it makes everything shine and more!!
OK, trust on Louis and his team and the Supreme!!!”

5 days after arrival:
Nov 7

Ordered Upgrade to EESUP … after I was convinced about the value of the EEREF even for this high price. And Louis encouraged me, that I might even find the improvement bigger then EEORG to EEREF … (which actually did happen later).

7 days after arrival:
Nov 9

“I had a wonderful experience this morning with the EE reference. Suddenly my stereo system was gone, just music around me. Wonderful natural organic sounds, full and rich natural timbres, harshness way down (I have to word it like this, not because I am aware of any remaining harshness, but I am very sure, I will suddenly be aware of further down harshness with the supreme), calmness and more stress free listening now!
People often describe good stage with comparison to holographic. This is definitely NOT true with the reference, because for me, holographic reminds me of technology and abstraction, which the reference definitely does not do, but rather showing an extreme stage. Greatly integrated and strong and detailed bass!!! “

Nov 14

The planned upgrade of my streamer / server arrived earlier … Now Innuos Statement! That tickled the DAC very nicely, wow, what an improvement!!

“… Anyway … gorgeous performance. Finally the EE Reference gets to process good quality input. Soooooo natural!!! I’m happy and drinking a glass of Champaign for buying the right thing again. And Champaign helps with the sound as well :)”

Dec 9

The new loudspeakers arrive (Living Voice OBX-RW4). Wow, with this great input it gets from the DAC it can really shine. Much more stage and details … even without burn-in. Another lucky purchase. Not a lot of time left for the EESUP to arrive, so play loud to burn-in faster :)

The Echo’s Ende Reference Supreme Edition (EESUP) story

Dec 18

The EESUP arrives and after a few minutes it was clear, that this expensive upgrade was better than expected and had to stay!!

I was so impressed, that I had to call Louis. We usually email only. So no citations for the first impressions.

Dec 21

“Just switched back to the reference for 5 mins … now way to go back there:)
It was a good idea to do this, because the speakers are still in the burn-in phase. But just the first minutes with the supreme gave me enough to make this decision anyways.
The supreme makes human voices so much more natural. My wife loves the easy understanding of lyrics. She really admitted, that all was better … usually she denies … Although I finally gave in and explained what I spent … I think she was prepared to not freak out :)
What a wonderful device, and the exclusiveness for me to enjoy it!!
Cheers,
Jörg
PS: biggest differences
- Space enhanced to the front, the back and left / right and probably top and bottom, but I didn't focus on that
- Voices !!!!!
- Deeper bass and much more punch
- Spacey but authoritative stage arrangement easily deciphered not only with 3D, but also with the better identification of timbres
- Overall such ease and flow, so relaxing and exciting at the same time

And I think you are right, this is a bigger jump than original to reference … congratulations
Happy happy happy !!!!”

Dec 22

“Cheers and thank you again and again and again for this wonderful DAC … goosebumps on songs I used to skip because they were too boring …”

Dec 24

"Typical thing to happen … like right now:
I just want to listen to one piece to see, if the magic is still there … and boom, it glued me to the couch as I already mentioned before. It’s again more natural and engaging … :):):)
I love it!!!”

Summarizing the EESUP

The stage is very widespread in the room and beyond, and such a presence as never heard before. Precise positioning and separation combined with perfectly correct natural timbres makes it easy to follow even the most complex arrangements.

The flow and liquidity is fantastic and makes listening so relaxed.

All in all it produces a great engagement, as never felt before.

It’s unbelievably believable :)

And as a perfectly prepared steak, it’s perfectly blackened while superbly juicy … kind of :)

The high prices will not allow the EESUP to be a wide spread item, and so my review might be the first.

It is a very exquisite item and I feel honoured to be able to use it in my home.
Besides the value measured by the sound, there is loads of work to make one, so I do not regret in any way having spent this money (30% of the entire system)!!

But keep in mind, the Reference and the Original are really capable of giving you joy and are totally worth their money. So there are LessLoss alternatives to the “insane” investment for the Supreme …

Thanks to Louis and the LessLoss team

C-MARC bulk wire and cable

Date Added: 12/20/2020 by Pascal, from Guadeloupe
Are you ready for the C-Marc bulk cable "Large" verdict in my high efficiency speakers (96.5 db!)?

Well I'm not going to use all the audiophile terms but the only thing I can say is that these cables bring finesse and allow the details to have more materialization, they are a little more embodied, of authenticity!

While waiting to familiarize myself a little more, I am saving up to test the DIY Firewalls for loudspeakers! So The sequel in a future episode!

Thank you for allowing me to improve noticeably but surely listening to my system!

C-MARC Classic loudspeaker cable, stereo pair; C-MARC RCA unbalanced signal cable, stereo pair; C-MARC Classic Power Cable

Date Added: 12/12/2020 by Harold
I have looked at many designs of high end cables. None of them stand out in sense and simplicity like the C-MARC cables do. All the variables that influence sound (capacity, inductance, skin effect, strand jumping, dielectric constants etc.) are optimised in the most elegant solution I can think of.

Having made me very curious I bought some about 3 months ago, starting with one Entropic Process Power Cord, a pair of interconnects and standard C-Marc loudspeaker cables.
I was so impressed that I decided it really pays off to feed all the equipment with Entropic Process Power Cords.

Most impressive is that all the glare and aggressiveness in the sound I was used to in some recordings completely disappeared. And this without any loss of detail and speed.

Violins that are meant to sound fierce, like in Shostakovich’s string quartet no.8, can sound too harsh in a resolving system, even when played with the best equipment.
I love the energy of Isabelle Faust but superimposed with high frequency noise it is hurting my ears. Listen to her solo in Beethoven’s violin concerto and you will know what I am talking about. Jimi Hendrix surely would be impressed.
During crescendos of large choirs it may sound like the microphones were clipping during the recording, resulting in nastiness in the high notes.

Recently I upgraded the speaker cables to the C-Marc Entropic Speaker Cables. They take away that last bit of glare and let you experience the instruments and voices in its pure essence. Music sounds so true to life, it is very difficult to put in words. You can feel the instruments themselves bringing the air into motion.

C-Marc cables don’t add or emphasise “a taste” to the sound. C-Marc cables are like Tai Chi masters, they just let the energy pass through without wasting or blocking it.

Equipment: Streamer Melco N10, DAC Sonnet Morpheus, Amp Bakoon AMP-13R, Speakesr Bastanis Matterhorn mk2. Other cables: Fidata ethernet, Curious Evolution USB.
